It lives!

I have a working PowerBook again! It is good! The DC board has been replaced (so the sleep light is all bright and stuff), the motherboard has been replaced (so the ports are not loose) the palm rest has been replace (so it has no scratches or dents) and the lower case has been replaced (it has four feet once again! and no dents or warping or scratches…).

So yeah, I have my PowerBook back, it works, I’m happy about that.

PowerBook DOA

My PowerBook is dead. D-E-A-D, dead. I plugged it into the power supply, there was a spark and it didn’t come back to life. Thus, it is in the shop, waiting on a new motherboard. It is also waiting on a new case. A $421 case. Because they wouldn’t even think of opening her up until I had authorised them to replace the case. On the other hand, when I get her back, she’ll have a brand-new motherboard, case and bluetooth module. So, she’ll be like a whole new computer.

I just want my PowerBook back, working.

New [temporary] Layout

So, my Drupal-based site no longer wishes to cooperate with my Windows box. It simply will not let me in. Thus, I am forced to move to my WordPress-based equivalent earlier than I had planned. Which is why this is the generic WordPress layout rather than something even remotely customised. I will fix this.. eventually.

Update: fixed. 2004-04-05: I like the default layout in WordPress 1.5, so it’s going to be a while before I get another custom layout up…
